June Spotlight - Building a Legacy of Faith: Fathers, Family, and the Next Generation
June is a time to celebrate fathers, father figures, mentors, and men of faith who help shape future generations through love, leadership, service, and spiritual example. Scripture shows us that legacy is not built by position alone, but by faithfulness, obedience, prayer, and a willingness to lead others toward God.
From Abraham, the father of faith, to Noah, who protected his family through obedience, the Bible gives us powerful examples of men who trusted God and impacted generations. Joseph reminds us that fatherhood is about presence, responsibility, and protection, while Job shows the importance of praying for our children. The father in the parable of the prodigal son reflects grace, forgiveness, and the loving heart of our Heavenly Father.
This month, we also celebrate our children and youth through Vacation Bible School and Youth Week. VBS will be held June 8-10 at 6:00 PM nightly with the theme "Hooked", inspired by Matthew 4:19. Youth Week continues with Night on Wheels on June 11 from 6:00-8:00 PM, the Chattanooga Lookouts game on June 12 at 7:00 PM, the Youth Awards Brunch on June 13 at 9:00 AM, and Youth Worship on June 14 at 9:00 AM.
As a church family, we are called to invest in the next generation by encouraging our youth, supporting families, serving our community, and modeling faith that can be seen at home, in the church, and beyond the walls of the sanctuary.
"One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts." - Psalm 145:4
