April Spotlight: Resurrection | Renewal | Life: A Gift That Lives On

April calls us into a deeper awareness of life—not just the life we live, but the life we can give.

As we celebrate Resurrection Sunday, we are reminded of the greatest act of giving the world has ever known. Jesus didn’t just rise—He gave His life so that we could truly live. His resurrection is the ultimate demonstration that life does not end in death; it is transformed, renewed, and multiplied.

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” — John 11:25

This same truth aligns powerfully with National Donate Life Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about organ, eye, and tissue donation. It’s a reminder that even in physical death, life can continue through others.

The connection is clear—and challenging.

Resurrection is not just something we celebrate. It’s something we are called to reflect.
Jesus gave His life so others could live.

The question is—how are we living in response?

Scripture consistently points us toward a life of sacrificial giving:

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

“Give, and it will be given to you… For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” — Luke 6:38

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

While these verses are often applied spiritually and relationally, they also challenge us to think practically. What does it look like to give life—literally?

For many, organ donation becomes a final act of stewardship—a decision that transforms loss into legacy. One donor can save up to eight lives and enhance dozens more. That’s not just generosity. That’s impact.
And here’s where perspective needs to shift:
Too often, we separate faith from action. We celebrate resurrection on Sunday but hesitate to live it out on Monday.

Resurrection is about more than victory over death—it’s about activating life wherever we have influence.
  • In how we serve
  • In how we give
  • In how we show up for others
  • In the legacy we choose to leave behind

This month, don’t let resurrection stay symbolic.

Let it become operational.
Consider what it means to be a life-giver—not just spiritually, but practically. Have the conversations. Make informed decisions. Be intentional about how your life can continue to impact others, even beyond your time here.

Because resurrection is not just what happened then—it’s what’s possible now.

And life—real life—is meant to be shared.
